Prof. Alessandro Chiarucci

Alessandro Chiarucci is Full Professor at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. Previously he was associate professor at the University of Siena. His research focuses on the study of the variation of specific plant diversity in ecological systems and on the construction of evidence-based biodiversity conservation policies. He has been the Chief Editor of the Journal of Vegetation Science and Applied Vegetation Science. He is a member of the Council of the International Association for Vegetation Science and has been the President of the Italian Botanical Society. He has contributed to many research project and published over 200 scientific articles in international journals. Recently, his scientific activity has been recognized by invitation to join the Academia Europaea.
